Save  energy!  Use our Tank Heat Loss and Insulation calculations software for your tanks!

The Tank Heat Loss & Insulation Calculations (ver.3.0) software program has been upgraded to make it much easier to use!

Click on Screen Views to see new simplified format ! It will automatically calculate cylindrical tank surface area, bare tank heat loss, insulated tank heat loss, optimum insulation thickness, and do simple payback calculations for most tanks including heads. Also flat bottom tanks.

Records data for each tank and most types of heads  in a report. Program uses both basic English and basic metric units. Report can be previewed and printed.  This newly  issued software program is for Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista and Windows NT 3.51 or greater.

Great aid for estimating tank heat loss and insulation thickness requirements for tanks.  If you wish, we can discuss modifying the software to suit your needs!

Features:    here

  • Program uses both English and metric units. See screen snapshots (Views) below.
  • Calculates the surface area of the tank(s) and heads.

  • Calculates the tank heat loss using surface area data from above plus other related inputs. Heat loss is calculated for the bare tank & heads and for the insulated tank & heads for selected insulation thickness. Saves data to database and report. Report can be previewed and printed.

  • Saves time - Saves data by tank number with each head broken-out and prints Report with tank data.

  • The full Report can also be exported to Microsoft Excel or other similar applications and can be e-mailed direct. All data is saved by tank number for retrieval.

  • Prints a snapshot of the calculations form including the current time and date. On request, we can modify the program to better suit your needs.

  • the calculations of  surface area for Tanks with Vertical or Horizontal Cylindrical Shells with Standard Dished or Bulged, ASME or Torispherical, Ellipsoidal, Hemispherical, and Conical heads, and Flat Ends; and Horizontal Rectangular Tanks. Standard dished or bulged heads are excluded for vertical tanks.
  • the surface area & insulation calculations including the shell or cylinder and both heads.
  • the selection for each vessel & calculation: top, shell and bottom head; layers & type of insulation.

  • All data is saved by tank number for retrieval.

  • prints a snapshot of the calculations form including the current time and date.
  • show a table of fractions to decimals.

  • Report Preview Window: Shows a preview of the Report; how to make the print preview window larger, print the report, how to send the Report by e-mail, and how to export the Report to Microsoft Excel as well as to other programs.

  •  The Tank Report will automatically sort data so that all the vessels with the same number (top, shell and bottom head) are to-gether.

  • Additional Aids in Tank Capacity Calculations:

    • Conversion units for Length, Area, Energy and Temperature, simultaneously for English and metric units.

    • Copy, Print, and How To functions, Help, Abbreviations and Definitions.

    • Tank Sketches

    • metric abbreviations

  • prints a snapshot of the calculations form including the current time and date.
  • show a table of fractions to decimals.

  • other unit conversions are included.
